Course Description
This presentation will cover the basics of HIV testing, diagnosis, treatment initiation, and infection prevention with PrEP for Primary Care Providers. We will cover screening guidelines, testing options, tips on having what can be challenging conversations for patients and providers alike, HIV diagnosis and treatment initiation, and discuss multiple options for PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) to help prevent HIV infection and protect our patients.

About the Instructor
Sean Peter Horan, ND, MS (He/They) is a Naturopathic Physician, Biomedical Ethicist, and Sexual Health Educator based out of Portland, OR, where they practice out of The Center for Natural Medicine providing full service primary care, mental health diagnosis and medication management, full spectrum gender and sexual health services, and minor surgical care. They are the owner/operator of PDseX Health LLC, a sexual health and education focused small business, out of which they offer classes around the pacific northwest and at festivals around the country on topics related to sexual health, substance use, and harm reduction. They are a 2019 graduate of the Naturopathic Doctorate program at NUNM, a 2015 graduate of The Alden March Bioethics Institute at Albany Medical College’s Master of Science in Biomedical Ethics program, and a 2010 graduate of The College of St. Rose, where they Earned their B.A. Summa Cum Laude in Philosophy and Religious Studies.
