Course Description
In this case-based lecture, I summarize assessment of the most common emergencies that walk into a primary care office and detail a step by step approach to management of these conditions prior to the arrival of emergency medical services. I also review the role of a primary care physician in emergency medicine and give an overview of how to quickly complete an emergency medicine assessment.

About the Instructor
Brandilyn Binstock is currently a second-year resident at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, and completed a one year INM-associated residency before starting the BCNH residency. During her undergraduate training she worked as an emergency medical technician for four years and also held a position in the cardiology unit monitoring and interpreting ECGs. She has a great interest and passion in working alongside medical students and feels strongly about teaching the merging of efficient diagnostics and conventional standard of care with integrative medicine philosophy and therapies.
