Course Description
Lecture would be regarding use of DOACs over warfarin for VTE management. Reasons why to do one over the other, the latest research on it, and then practical cases to apply knowledge to.

- Diagnosis of DVT, inpatient vs outpatient criteria
- Use of key clinical calculators i.e. HASBLED, Wells DVT
- How to prescribe DOACs
- Research differences in outcomes for DOAC vs warfarin

About the Instructor
Aubrey is a primary care physician practicing at Central City Concern's Blackburn Center. She graduated in 2019 from NUNM, and completed 2 years of residency at NUNM as well while rotating at various FQHCs to gain further experience. Her practice is rooted in recognition of how social determinants of health impact healthcare, and she has a passion for serving underserved communities. She also serves as a board member for OANP, and is a committee member for OHA Healthcare Workforce Committee. In her downtime, you can find her climbing mountains, rocks, or surfing with her fiance.
